Hi ya everyone,
Well I have plenty of news to tell and have been saving it up so let me burst!!!!
But before that news I must introduce the newest member to our family..... drum roll please.........
JASPER - 'the cat in the hat'!
Yes he's still a kitten but an adventureous one at that. Given his level of cheekiness I'm considering nic naming him 'Scrappycat' - he amused me the other night when he sat on my computer table and proceeded try and catch the 'mouse arrow' and then the computer mouse!!!!And then the little ratbag sat on what he knew would be most precious to me outside my family-------- my scrapbook Layouts, with that look like -"is anything a matter"??????
Now as to how out Staffy is taking this latest addition is another story hence why the kitten was brought in the school holidays as fulifillment of a promise I made to our DD Courtney tht she could have a kitten. My apprehension though is that once upon a time my eldest son use to think it was funny to get Effie to skitch the cats that came into our yard (you know send them packin') I was never in favour of it but despite my words of disapproval etc (teenage boys -do they really listen to us anyway//) my wisdom fell on deaf ears, now we have to retrain Effie that cats and dogs can be friends. Emily my eldest DD is particualy good at taming the fears in both animals, but we're not there yet, I live to see scenes of the two cuddled up together in harmony!!!!
Okay here goes..... the other news!!!!
As alot of you would know I've been a DT member of the fantastic scrapbooking site Every Moment Matters for the last 18 months, from the site's very beginnings. It has been a ball and Rondelle has been a gem of a boss to work for, so in saying that it has given me a positive viewpoint of Scrapbook business managers and my relationship with them. I did of course do other Guest Designer appointments prior to EMM but EMM has been my longest stint! Since than of course I was recruited to design for the Piggy Tales company in America as well and I am into my 2nd term with them and their products are growing in leapts and bounds.
In saying all this Every Moment Matters has recently changed direction from an online scrapbooking retail store to a online scrapbooking Directory, I guess simular to other sites like Scrapbooking Top 50, as well as the change will come about a change of name as well form EMM to Scraplounge .
With the change of EMM's direction and how the Design side of things would go into more of a creative team point of view instead I've decided that perhaps it was also time for me to freshen up and make opportunity there for someone else, so I am relieving my position on the team but will make an effort as time permits with my other committments to visit as a forum member. I have enjoyed being part of what has shaped EMM /Scraplounge what it is today and I hope it continues to be the same. I would like to thank Rondelle too for having me aboard as her DT member too, it has been a pleasure to work for her! I wish her all the best with her new venture! There are many businesses starting to come aboard her directory so it's quite exciting!
Now in letting one position go I have applied for another as a retail online scrapbook Designer and it gives me great pleasure to say that I have been accepted into the awesome team of talented girls at The Scrapbook Establishment. I am now one of 8 members on the team, who are in all
so there is plenty of us to share the workload yay!!! Since joining the site the girls have been very welcoming and accomadating so I look forward to doing well by Annette the owner and my fellow members. Of course I venture into this position with a mixture of nerves and excitement as you do with any new challenge. So expect to see more of my creations in the gallery at TSE!!!
Here is the grand announcement via the newsletter and some of the beautiful submissions by my fellow DTers.

So yes this year is starting off with some exciting challenges and of course some challenges in the other parts of our lives like our financial affairs. All this rain has been great however my DH can't work in it and as a subbie, we don't get paid if he doesn't work all at a time of the year that things are stretched thin sending kids back to school and trying to sell our Warwick home as well. Lots of prayers need to be prayed for a breakthrough in these issues.
Before I finish this post I'll leave you with a few Layouts I've worked on recently. The first is a class I taught on the last EMM retreat in Novemeber, at the time it was void of photos with the idea that each attendee would have a Layout up and running ready to put 2007's pics on as they come into existance or a previous year as they wished!
There is a total of 22 photos on this Layout and the quote flap lifted up reveals some of those extra pics and journaling. A lot of the smaller pics are 2 3/4" x almost 2", the sort of size you get if you get a 4 x 6" photo printed up with 4 pics on them, like half size wallet images, still big enought to get the message across.
Well I think that's about all the news I have for now.
Enjoy you week everyone and take care especially so on the roads.
Our home town of Warwick has endured way too much grief and will for some time to come I'm sure with the lost of 4 young lives, in the prime of their existance. I cannot imagine and hope I never have to, the lost these families now feel.
I will say upon hearing of the tragic accident I rang my sons hoping to dear God they would answer, I'm sure I wasn't the only parent to do the same last Sunday morning.
My heart too goes out to the truckie who had the misfortune to become involved in the accident through no fault of his own. the horrible images that he now has to navigate through his life.
As I write this there has been a total of tragic accidents in the last 4 days taking 8 lives on these immediate Queensland roads. A great sum of them involving trucks.
My BiL is a truckie and my own DH has known what it is like to drive endless miles through all sorts of conditions. It is not an easy career, one that is hard on them and their families and both my SIL and I know what it is like to rear our families almost as solo parents in the endless hours of their absences from home driving on the roads meeting the demanding needs of the transporting industry.
So take an extra 5 minutes and care when you go somewhere and pray before you do! You don't want to be 'killin' to get there' please!!!
Enjoy life,
love yas
